What V-mount means
V-mount describes the mount: a V-shaped mount that locks a battery onto a camera rig, so the battery stays in place during a shoot. The mount matters because a broadcast rig moves, and a battery that slips will cut power to the camera and its accessories. A V-mount battery is chosen for its mount first, then for its energy and outputs.
Both V-mount models on this site state the same voltage and the same PD figure, but different energy: 207Wh against 99Wh. That difference, not voltage, is the choice between them.
Choosing between 207Wh and 99Wh
Energy describes how long a battery can power a rig. A rig that runs for hours, powering a camera and several accessories, needs more energy than a rig that runs for a short shoot. The 207Wh model, with 16 cells, suits a longer shoot or a heavier rig; the 99Wh model, with 8 cells, suits a shorter shoot or a lighter rig, where weight matters more than duration.
Outputs matter too: the 207Wh model states Dual D-Tap plus USB plus Type-C outputs, so it can power several accessories at once. A rig with many accessories should check the outputs, not just the energy, and confirm in the inquiry.
Temperature ranges and broadcast work
Both V-mount models state operating, discharge and storage temperature ranges, because broadcast rigs work outdoors as well as in studios. A battery used outside its stated ranges may not perform as expected, and a rig that works in cold or heat should check the ranges against its conditions. The model pages transcribe the ranges exactly as stated.
Do not assume a temperature range for a model that does not state one, and do not assume one model's range applies to another. Ask in the inquiry, and check the answer against the model page.
What to confirm before ordering
Name the model, the exact broadcast camera and accessories it must power, the quantity you have in mind, and the market you sell into. Ask for the specification for the exact model, the minimum order quantity, the lead time with its meaning, the warranty terms, and the certificates that apply to your market, by name, with documents attached.
Before payment, confirm the minimum order quantity, lead time and warranty terms for your order. Certificates are available upon request.
