How to Inquire

Inquiry process

An inquiry is a request for information and a quotation, not an order. This page explains how to write an inquiry, what to ask for, and how an order proceeds after the inquiry. It applies to all categories on this site, from laptop batteries to lighting.

Step 1: Name the model and the variant

Name the model, and the exact device variant it must serve. A model name alone is not enough, because variants differ, and a model that serves one variant may not serve another. Include the quantity you have in mind, and the market you sell into, so the quotation can be accurate.

Step 2: Ask for the specification and the terms

Ask for the specification for the exact model, the minimum order quantity, the lead time with its meaning, the warranty terms, and the certificates that apply to your market, by name, with documents attached. Ask for the price for the exact models and quantities, and for the payment terms, before payment, not after.

Do not pay before these have been confirmed for the exact models in the order. The confirmation step is the buyer's protection against a mismatched battery, a missing certificate, or a misunderstood term.

Before payment, confirm the minimum order quantity, lead time and warranty terms for your order. Certificates are available upon request.

Step 3: Confirm the quotation, then order

The inquiry is answered with a quotation for the exact models and quantities, including the specification, the minimum order quantity, the lead time, the warranty terms, and the certificates. The buyer confirms the quotation, and the order proceeds on the confirmed terms. Any change after confirmation should be re-confirmed, because it may change the specification, the lead time, or the certificates.
